The Merchant of Venice
For ESL and BE student
A rare opportunity
to see Shakespeare's great play about Shylock, the
Jewish moneylender, and his arch enemy Antonio. In ETNY Theater's unique
format, the students have the chance to participate after each act.
Imagine this: the actors freeze, the Presenter enters and engages the audience
in conversation about the play's characters and themes. This gives the
students time to think about what they have seen, to express their ideas, and to
remain active throughout the performance. The play continues this way act
by act. The Merchant of Venice has been shortened somewhat, but
Shakespeare's language remains intact.
Adapted for intermediate to advanced language learners and high school
students. A great
challenge! Materials for students are at Lesson
Plans.
Three performances scheduled. Additional
morning performances may be added.
Wednesday, March 14 at 6:30; Thursday, March 15 at 6:30; Saturday, Mach 31 at
3 pm.
at WINGS THEATRE 154 Christopher Street ,NYC
